Nobama’s Nobel – He Deserves It

with 2 comments

The reasoning: for “creating a new climate of international politics”.  What this means, essentially is allowing foreign governments to have more of a direct say over American policy.

Before all of you start screaming at me saying, “for what?” or some other thing, hear me out.

For the last 10 months, Obama has been very interested in giving the world what it wants.  Even during the campaign, he spent time telling foreign countries how bad America was and how much we have to change.  In the early parts of his presidency, he did his “Apologize-for-America” tour, which probably put him on the radar of the Nobel committee.  Obama is holding out Uncle Sam’s hat and telling the world, “here, take what you want”.

Of course, it’s not particularly reciprocative, since Obama’s charm failed to win over the Olympics and Obama got exactly nothing in return for the concessions that we made regarding pulling the missile interceptors out of Poland and the Czech Republic.  His cheezy “Smilin’ Bob” smile while apologizing for all the pain we’ve caused has garnered very little in the way of helping America through it’s current crises.  But I guess it gets him a big medal and a million-four to help him in his campaign efforts next year, or hand out to ACORN or those saps in Detroit chirping for stimulus money like starving hatchlings.

The thing is, Obama is listening more to the world, to foreign governments than he is listening to the American people.  More than 50% of Americans are fuming over this health care nonsense and Obama could care less, even when two million Americans show up on his doorstep to personally deliver the message.  General McChrystal in Afghanistan has requested 40,000 additional troops to buttress the effort there, an effort that is becoming increasingly demoralizing, given the fact that we can’t take Sun Tzu’s teachings to heart and actually win the war in Afghanistan.  But Obama has demonstrated that he’s not very willing to make any serious waves and would rather that we lose the Afghan effort through futility – similar to how Vietnam was brought to an end.

The world likes what Obama is doing, so much that they give him the Nobel Prize and he accepts it as a ‘call-to-action’.  The reasoning: for “creating a new climate of international politics”.  What this means, essentially is allowing foreign governments to have more of a direct say over American policy.

Now, we’ve sat back in abject shock as other high profile figures in America – figures interested in eroding American sovereignty  like Jimmy Carter and Al Gore get the award, an award which now carries the credibility of a plastic, Chinese-made adornments we find at Big Lots or Wal-Mart.  And why?  Because these recipients, like the rest of the world, don’t believe that America deserves to be a sovereign nation.  They simply see America as the problem, not the “city on the hill”, to which Reagan was referring.  So you can capitulate to terrorists (Carter) and promoting in to kook science (Gore) and be recognized by the socialistic powers that be.  It’s Chicago politics on an international scale.

So yeah, I guess Obama deserves his Nobel Prize.  And he can wear it like a badge of honor like the ego maniac that he is.

But does America really deserve Obama?   That’s the question.  Perhaps we’ll find out in 2010 and then in 2012 when Americans go back to the polls to give their real response to Smilin’ Barry.

  1. You people are the most ignorant humans living. I’m so sick and tired of your mean spirited lies. Get over it you lost the election. Your president forced this country into the worst economy since the Great depression. Your party lied and stole every dime the could get their hands on. Your President lied to start and unjustified war in Iraq then allowed the Taliban to take over Afganistan.
The Conservatives started 8 years ago with a surplus and 8 years later left with a 1.2 Trillion dollar defict. Before you start talking about Obama’s 9 Ten months go back and look at your parties 8 years. Then you will have no reason but to shut the hell up….

  2. This has nothing to do with the loss of the election. If you got past your own hate and vitriol for more than three seconds, you would probably find that His Lordship hasn’t done anything of benefit in his first term. And I’m not the only one mad about that – you are too. You’re angry about that because you had such high expectations for Mr. Hope and Change, but those are being dashed as more Americans who were asleep at the wheel are waking up and showing what kind of man Barack Hussein Obama (mmm, mmm, mmm) is.

And didn’t he not say to judge him by the people that advise him? And then we see Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, Rahm Emanuel, Anita Dunn, Cass Sunstein…

Yeah, I can see why you’re an angry liberal who is so sick and tired. I would recommend that you stop reading Media Matters and the Daily Kos, getting off the internet and writing a haiku. That should help you relax.

For the rest that are listening:

Now, I love to hear nutty liberals complain about the deficit, and even more so, seeing as Ms. Samantha here has got her facts wrong in a fit of gripery. So let me break it down to the brass tacks (all of these things are documented fact):

    • President Bush expanded the federal budget by a historic $700 billion through 2008. President Obama would add another $1 trillion.
    • President Bush began a string of expensive financial bailouts. President Obama is accelerating that course.
    • President Bush created a Medicare drug entitlement that will cost an estimated $800 billion in its first decade. President Obama has proposed a $634 billion down payment on a new government health care fund.
    • President Bush increased federal education spending 58 percent faster than inflation. President Obama would double it.
    • President Bush became the first President to spend 3 percent of GDP on federal antipoverty programs. President Obama has already increased this spending by 20 percent.
    • President Bush tilted the income tax burden more toward upperincome taxpayers (even though he cut taxes and hoisted the economy in 2001). President Obama would continue that trend.

Conservatives in general (if Sammy had actually been paying attention) grossly disagreed with the spending policies of President Bush, but now we sit back and watch Obama make a bigger mess of things. None of these things are in dispute, but liberals and Obama defenders, rather than actually work within the scope of the truth, spend their energy demonizing George Bush. Rather than substantiate their own policies with objective facts and allow them to be graded in the crucible of debate, their response for everything: “It’s all George Bush’s fault”.

Once again, this conservative has to remind a liberal that Iraq started on faulty intelligence, which the Dems accepted as just as actionable. But I’m slightly amused when Samantha tries to lecture me about Bush allowing the Taliban to do anything, even as Obama refuses to make a decision about troop increases in Afghanistan, which has been on the table since the beginning of September. Just who is allowing the Taliban to gain a foothold? McChrystal called for a surge of 40,000 troops and Obama is sitting on his hands (probably because he has that shiny Peace Prize and doesn’t want to renege in the face of people who think his all that and a bag of chips. I wonder if she denies that the surge in Iraq was also a failure?

Oh and Samantha – Next time you decide to fling incindiary comments or anything of a non-business nature, you might want to use a different computer system, preferably something not one belonging to the US Coast Guard. When last I checked, official policy specifies that DoD computers are “for official use only”. Given that you are probably not authorized to speak on behalf of the DoD, USCG, or the Obama Administration, using a government computer to tell a private citizen with an opinion that is protected by the First Amendment to “shut the hell up” is not something you should do.

Oh, and thank you for wasting of taxpayers dollars rather than doing something productive for the Coast Guard in reading The Rabid Conservative and posting.
