As America Sails Off the Fiscal Cliff, the Do-Nothing Congress Gets a Pay Raise

leave a comment »

This really should sicken every American.  Seriously, Congress has done basically diddly-squat and the President has done really less, yet, he feels that the 2009 freeze on pay should be lifted on federal workers all the way up to the Vice President.

And yet, we’re all going to basically get a tax increase in about 11 hours to pay for all of the government’s insane splurging.

Talk about bad form.  Could Obama get any worse here?

Dictatorships and Sound Financial Footing

leave a comment »

Harry Reid doesn’t know what sound financial footing is, but he knows a lot about dictatorships.

Harry Reid is such a tool.  His latest stint has been to call John Boehner a dictator because of how he runs the House.  It’s funny though because, as I recall, Nancy Pelosi isn’t exactly Ms. Congeniality herself, yet, he probably thinks she’s the bees knees.

The thing is, Harry Reid hasn’t done anything to try to start a conversation about it in the Senate.  He blocked the plan submitted by Tim Geithner because Senator McConnell called it so unserious that he wanted to see if the Dems would agree with that assessment.  Well, Reid made his point known – and implicitly agreed with McConnell, writing it off as a GOP stunt (typical d-bag behavior).

As for sound financial footing, I would just say, “Like what, passing a budget – oh, wait, you people haven’t done that in three years”. Sound financial footing begins with a plan with short and long term goals, but since the Senate hasn’t even taken up a budget, it would seem that Harry Reid could care less about it.

But if Harry were to put up some actual leadership ability, rather than playing his little reindeer games and avoiding getting involved, well, perhaps he would have room to talk.

Sorry Harry, but you’re just as much, if not more, to blame for all of this.

China Should Outlaw Cars and Knives

with 2 comments

This article almost escaped my notice, but luckily, I was able to catch it and get it posted. Turns out some Chinese dude in Beijing drove his car into some middle-school students, injuring 13.  He was upset over how a court ruled in the murder of his daughter that he felt it necessary to mow over some kids.Image

Now this is no laughing matter.  Whether it’s in the US or in China, when kids get torn up by some psycho, we all grieve – they are the innocent ones.  Luckily, there were no fatalities in this incident.

But this article also demonstrates that it didn’t take a gun to bring danger to children.  The article also cites that because guns are not allowed by the Chi-Com government, knives are the weapon of choice.  On Dec 14, 23 elementary school kids were stabbed in another spree.

So, because of this, the Chinese government should begin the process of outlawing cars and knives (as well as firecrackers, since those were used in this latest incident).  Since we’re all currently hell-bent on believing that outlawing things (such as guns) will reduce the amount of violence against the innocent, I am forced to now conclude that cars and knives are as dangerous as guns and therefore should also be outlawed.

Yeah, I can hear all you libs now, going off about my latest absurdity illustration, but if we’re going to be consistent, then let the outlawing begin.

We’re Still Alive

Well folks, we all survived the Mayan apocalypse without too much worry. We got a few laughs and even got to see the dimwits in their tinfoil suits cower in terror. But at the end, we’re all still alive.

The End of the World – Fail

leave a comment »

December 21, 2012 – the day that all things were supposed to end and the apocalypse was to begin.  In this cited article, detailing the events as they happen, we see the fringe lunatic kooks out there, hunkered down, waiting for the end of everything.

Well, the sun rose this morning to a nice clear and briskly cold day to mark the first day of winter, for today is also the winter solstice – and with just three more shopping days before Christmas and the US economy barreling full long towards the so-called fiscal cliff, while the lib-crats in Washington trying to upend the Second Amendment while avoiding the hard questions about who really knew what about Benghazi, I sit in my office.  It’s quiet.

Sometimes I wish the Mayans were right.  Perhaps I’ve truly had enough of all the crap in the world – how those in Washington really don’t care about us in America.  They say they do, but only to advance their own personal and political agendas.  I’ve definitely had enough with this notion that because of the size of an ammo magazine or how many rounds a gun can fire, that somehow, that’s the reason why 20 kids died in a school and 12 in a movie theater (as if the death of just one doesn’t already make the act horrific enough).  Instead of blaming the person behind the trigger, we blame the  weapon and forget that psychos don’t need guns to kill people (anyone ever hear of Jack the Ripper or Ted Bundy?)

I guess I’m just tired today.  It’s really hard to get into the Christmas spirit with all of this junk around and the dipsticks that promulgate it.

Stupid Chi-Coms Demand American Disarmament – Liberals Agree

leave a comment »

ImageI am really glad I live in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, unlike the Chinese who are part of the Land of the Oppressed.  And even though the Second Amendment is very much still a part of American law, it’s surprising that we even acknowledge how the Chinese want us to disarm. But more so, how our own liberal counterparts don’t care about what the Constitution says.  So here, I post the Second Amendment in its entirety.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

So-called Liberals don’t believe in liberty because they are, this week, on the warpath about getting rid of people’s rights to own weapons.

But does it not surprise us that the greatest number of the shootings in the last couple of decades involving the deaths of more than three people occur in so-called gun-free zones?  The movie theater in Aurora, CO, Sandy Creek elementary school last week,  Columbine in Colorado…see what I mean?  They go to where they won’t get shot at.  In other words, do we know of any mass shootings going on in police stations?

We had one on a military base, but all of the soldiers’ weapons were in the arms room.

Heck…I’ve posted a long list of incidents at the end of this post.

ImageThing is, gun control laws don’t solve the problem.  In most every situation, the person doing the shooting was crazed and was carrying a gun where they weren’t allowed anyway.  The problem is not the laws, but the people doing the killing.  No gun control law can prevent a person from snapping and going on a killing spree.

These crazies attack and kill because of the real problem – lack of morality, standards, and this belief that the world owes them something.  When someone starts slaughtering people, it’s not because he had access to firearms – the problem began long before the dude picked up a gun.

So, liberals, leave my guns alone.  Just because you can’t read the Constitution doesn’t mean I won’t exercise my Second Amendment rights to protect myself from your tyranny.

It’s all about Freedom.  Live Free or Die.

On Celebrities – Why Do We Care So Much About What They Say About Politics?

leave a comment »

So Harry Belefonte was on PMSMBC

  1. Just because 60 million people emphatically demonstrated that they don’t care about traditional American values by voting for more entitlements, bigger government, and the personification of socialism in America, Barack Obama,
  2. Had the tables have been turned and BHO been oustered from the Presidency, Belefonte would not be saying the same things about how the opposition just needs to be quiet and and acquiesce to the will of the majority.  In other words, the man is a hypocrite.

But why do we even care about what this has-been says anyway?  I mean, really, just because he makes songs about his banana boat that he’s supposedly an expert on politics?  Even if he is an “activist”, all that means is that he has an opinion and is trying to push it in the face of anyone who will listen.

But there are scores of other talking heads out of Hollywood, celebrities that got famous for singing, dancing, telling jokes, or waving their private parts around on a movie screen and suddenly, we’re supposed to give a crap about what they think.

Finally, Michigan Does Something About the Out-Of-Control Unions

leave a comment »

I was born and raised in Michigan, born to a father who was a dedicated union man.  For years and years, I heard the left-wing ramblings supporting the unions, against businesses that were “taking advantage of workers”.  I watched unemployment, recession, and the like sweep through our little town because companies got tired of fighting with the unions.  Growing up there was like watching Michael Moore’s dumb-umentary, Roger and Me, every day.  The crap got old very fast.  And I learned a long time ago that there are two sides to every argument – so there was something that we’re not hearing from the unions.

ImageI love Michigan.  It’s got to be the most gorgeous state in the union.  I just can’t stand the unions in Michigan today.  I have a friend who lives near Lansing, whose wife was in the teaching profession.  She had to pay two sets of union dues just to keep her job – no choice, no anything, just pay up to stay employed.  Now I don’t mind if someone WANTS to join a union, but that choice should be left to the individual.

So, when Michigan voted on the Right-to-Work initiatives, it boggles my mind to think that it’s actually happening – in Michigan!  And now, we have Democrats threatening violence on Michigan House floor, saying “there will be blood”, which once again, underscores my contention that Democrats only care for the electoral process when it suits them.  But my heart is warmed because, perhaps, the individuals, not the union bosses, will be able to decide for themselves their own destinies.

Today, my dad and I fight about ideology, since I’m about as anti-union as I can get anymore.  For years on end, the unions have sucked the very life out of Michigan and blamed everyone around them for why companies don’t want to do business there.  I don’t live or work there for that very reason.

Perhaps if the Great Lake State can throw off some of the shackles of the unions and the environment can get favorable for business, I might actually want to return home.
