Newtown, CT School Board Calls for More Armed Officers

The folks at Newtown are calling for the one thing that will actually reduce gun violence – armed protection.  Pro-gun advocates have been rightly saying that, when you remove guns from the hands of law-abiding citizens, the only ones with guns are the law-breaking citizens.  The Founders rightly knew that people, left unchecked in their own devices, would seek to do wrong.  I wonder how many of those kids at Sandy Hook would be alive right now if there was a trained and armed security officer in the school at the time of the shooting.

The Newtown board has asked for more armed police officers in the schools.  Good.  It’s about time.  They are being pressured by parents to make things safer, and it seems quite obvious that liberal idealism and giving up of arms isn’t the way it’s going to happen.  There is idealism – and then there are facts and reality.  The libs are clearly on the wrong side of this issue – and always have been.

We see in Atlanta that a school shooting could have gone much worse than a 14-year old kid getting grazed by having an armed officer disarm the shooter, particularly when the metal detector failed to identify that the shooter was armed.

The liberals can continue to pontificate on how bad guns are and, how outdated and unnecessary that the Second Amendment is.  They can attempt to infringe on the liberties afforded in the Constitution, but in the end, our case continues to be proven correct.

After all, why do we arm our police?  And if we put armed security to protect our money, why is it such a bad thing to put armed security to protect our children?
