Out of Hiatus – Explaining the Trump Effect…Again

If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t let us do it. – Mark Twain

It’s been well over a year since we published anything here at TRC. There are a number of reasons, but, really, at the end of the day, I publish when I want to – people read if they want to. And really, there hasn’t been much worth my time to write about.

Anyway, we have been watching the entire campaign season and it’s been totally chaotic. Can’t say this upsets me at all, because I think the shakeup is healthy

For years on end, we have sat back and pretty much accepted the knucklehead political candidates that are given to us by the political parties. Both Mitt Romney and John McCain have been dismal disasters as presidential candidates. Both establishment. Both supposed to have the chutzpah to beat Barack Obama. Both complete disappointments.

Now we look at the pick of the litter of candidates, from which we’re supposed to choose, besides the front-runner. For fairness, I’ve put up the Democrat jack-asses as well.

  • Ted Cruz – The darling of all of us supposed conservatives, the guy who is “to the right of Reagan” as Glenn Beck likes to say. He has yet to convince me that he won’t get run over by Hillary in the general election.
  • Marco Rubio – Establishment-based senator out of Florida who is struggling to stay relevant. Nice try, Marco. You probably should pack it in later this week, unless you and Ted Cruz are going to pair up as a ticket.
  • John Kasich – Establishment based Governor of Ohio. As Malcolm Tucker said in The Thick of It to the American general, “Why don’t you put your feet up on a poof and go back to sleep”. I have never been inspired by this guy, although I’m sure he’s nice.
  • Hillary Clinton – Progressive hag who lies as bad as her husband, Der Schlick himself. At least it took investigators longer to find her classified e-mails than it did to find Monica Lewinsky’s blue dress.
  • Bernie Sanders – Older than dirt, self-avowed socialist who hates Wall Street, capitalism, and hair care products. Wants to give all the little girls and boys free college and make us all pay 85% taxes.

Now here comes Donald J. Trump, billionaire real estate developer and business shark. He brings his own money, his own resources, his own message and, despite what the GOP says or does, his poll numbers keep going on and on. You can hear the Republicans go bat-crap-crazy – he wasn’t supposed to get this far! It was supposed to be Jeb, or Marco, or someone. Not Trump though. Not Trump. But yet, Trump continues to lead.

The Establishment cannot stand him. World leaders and lobbyists alike that rely on the control from the political establishment are losing their minds. And why? Because Trump is a wild card. He’s not someone you can control through the Establishment. The GOP and the Democrats both (strange bedfellows to be sure) can’t handle that. The Establishment likes to think of themselves as the king-makers and Trump doesn’t play their game.

The Establishment fights tooth and nail to keep control, so anyone that doesn’t play with the Establishment – Trump, Cruz, whoever, well, they are the Establishment’s natural enemy. They continuously want to control the game and they will set themselves against anyone, left or right wing that challenges their control.

Say what you will about his politics – yeah, he’s not the most conservative person in the world. But there is one thing that I do like about the guy – he is not part of the system. So take a guy who’s not of the Establishment system, give him a message, and the American people are going to go nuts.

Because THAT’S what the people are wanting these days. I don’t see a lot of people hanging around the watercooler at work and saying, “Oh I just love our government and the great job they are doing”. In fact, if you look at the polls lately, you’ll find a lot of dissatisfaction of the government among – which is a direct indictment of the establishment.

What’s amazing to me is how much that the dummkopfen in the media  just don’t get it. Maybe its because the media are also puppets of the establishment?  Who knows? But one thing I do understand is that the media wasn’t banking on Trump doing as well as he has – not that they are overly upset about it, since Trump’s brash approach to politics is making his numbers soar and is getting the media some great press.

And you would think that this is EXACTLY the kind of effect that Campaign Finance Reform was supposed to clear up – that big money, filtered through the Establishment, would decide candidates. Even though I can hear the critics say, “well, Trump using his $10B isn’t?”. To them I say, well, it’s his money to use as he likes, not filtered money through 527 groups or these lobby groups.

And all day today, I’ve sat back and listened to how bad Trump is for all the negativity in campaigning – of how the protests are his fault or how everyone is just all bent out of shape over it. Cry me a freakin’ river people.

So, does this mean I’m throwing in for Trump? No, not right now, because, really, it’s all one big cesspool anyway. All politicians are liars, cheats, and thieves, so I don’t have much interest in supporting them. They all suck. But I’ll support the nominee, whether it’s Trump, Cruz, or whomever.

Not that it matters, since I’m not a Republican anymore. Gave up on the GOP overall after John Boehner and Paul Ryan got as excitable as a wet noodle

What continues to amaze me is all the anger they ascribe to Trump and his supports, yet the amount of anger and hatred that is coming from everyone who doesn’t like Trump is just as incendiary.

Pick your pony, people. Right now, I’m bored.
